Warren John Longstreth, 91 of Michigan Rd., Argos, Indiana died on November 9, 2017 at 5:39 a.m. at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth, Indiana where he had been in declining health.
On September 7, 1926 in Mansfield, Illinois he was born to Warren H. Longstreth and Pearl (Kennedy) Longstreth. He had spent most of his life in the Argos Community moving there in 1939.
On November 1, 1947 in Argos, Indiana he married Martha Grace (Grossman) Longstreth. She preceded him on June 28, 1986.
He had worked for Moriarty Buildings and was a Foreman at Wick’s Lumber in Argos, Indiana for the Building Crew.
He attended Argos High School, but volunteered for the United States Army and entered his service to the country on February 1, 1945. During his service in WWII he was an Electrician and on December 12, 1946 PFC Longstreth received his Honorable Discharge.
He was a member of the James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana.
Warren is survived by his Daughters – Karen S. Alderfer and husband David of Argos, Indiana; Barbara A. Gulley and husband Ben of Patriot, Indiana; and Kim E. Longstreth of Ft. Wayne, Indiana
Son – Gary L. Longstreth of Argos, Indiana
8 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren
Sister – Helen Radebugh and husband Burt of Albuquerque, New Mexico
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Sisters – Margaret Arick, and Beverly Riddle
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday November 12, 2017 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana, and 1 hour prior to services.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. Robert E. Rice.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana with the United States Army Honor Guard and the Plymouth Legion, VFW, and DAV conducting Military Honors.
