Waneta Joan (Haag) Coughenour

Waneta Joan (Haag) Coughenour, 90 of rural Argos, Indiana passed away July 2, 2024, at 6:05 a.m. at her residence. On July 10, 1933, in St. Joseph County, Indiana she was born to Elmer and Lucille (Lathrop) Haag. Waneta lived in the Argos community since 1963 having lived in Tyner, Indiana prior.

On July 11, 1951, she married Clark E. Coughenour and together they shared the next 46 years until his passing on August 30, 1997.

Waneta was a Housewife/Homemaker, and was a graduate of Tyner High School with the class of 1951.

Waneta is survived by her Daughter – Jean Wolfe and husband David of Plymouth; and Son – David Coughenour and wife Amy of Alger, Ohio

11 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren 

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brothers – Frank Haag and Russell Haag, Sisters – Maxine Angel, Louella Preston, Virginia Rensberger, and Leona Boswell

Friends may visit with the family on Monday July 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. 

Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Fishburn. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
