Viola Donna (DePoy) Cowger

Viola Donna (DePoy) Cowger, 95 of Rochester, Indiana passed away November 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

On October 4, 1929, in Cass County, Indiana she was born to Thomas Rosco DePoy and Mildred Edna (Sims) DePoy. Donna had lived in Marshall and Fulton counties most of her life.

On October 23, 1948, in Winamac, Indiana she married Wilbur “Bud” Ernest Cowger and together they shared the next 75 years until Bud’s passing on December 23, 2023.

Donna was a housewife/homemaker.  She was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church, Argos, Indiana, and Community Club, Frost Proof, Florida. Donna was a graduate of Star City High School with the class of 1947. Donna enjoyed crocheting and raising flowers.

Donna is survived by her Daughters – Beverly Cooley of Talma, Indiana; Dianna Overmyer and husband Danni of Tippecanoe, Indiana; Twyla Hartman and husband Mike of Argos, Indiana; Melody Avery and husband Clyde of Plymouth, Indiana

Sons – Kelly Cowger and companion Wendy Goodman of Talma, Indiana; and Tim Cowger of Rochester, Indiana

30 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Granchildren with Great-Great, and Great-Great-Great Grandchildren 

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Sons – Keith Cowger, Leon “Buddy” Cowger, Bill Cowger, Terry Cowger, Michael Cowger; Granddaughter – Donna Cooly, Grandsons – Michael Cowger Jr., and John Cooly, Great-Great Granddaughter – Letty Tener, Sisters- Katherine Shidler, and Betty Good, Brothers – Thomas DePoy and Leon DePoy

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday November 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Leon D. Pomeroy of the Argos United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Winamac Memorial Garden Cemetery, Winamac, Indiana.
