Timothy Michael Hackett

Timothy Michael Hackett, 76 of Argos, Indiana passed away on April 13, 2023, at 5:05 p.m. at his residence. On November 24, 1946, in Muncie, Indiana he was born to George L. Hackett and Jeanette (Jordan) Hackett. Tim had lived in Marshal County, Indiana for the past 49 years.

On April 21, 1973, at the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church he married Barb J. Johnson and together they shared the next 50 years together.

Tim retired from Norfolk Southern Corp. as a Dispatcher after nearly 40 years of service. He served from 1964 – 1968 in the United Stated Navy and received his honorable discharge on April 8, 1968. He was a Radioman Second Class on U.S.S Waldron DD-699. He was a member of the Argos American Legion Post#68 and had served as the Commander of the post and was a member of National Rifle Association. He was a graduate of Mooreland High School with the class of 1964.

Tim is survived by his Wife – Barb Hackett of Argos, Indiana

Daughters – Teri L. Barcus and husband Ed of Argos, Indiana; and Kelli L. VanDerWeele and husband Todd of Plymouth, Indiana

Grandchildren – Madisyn, Morgyn, Emma, Alleigh, Brayleigh, Spencer, Alexis, Madilyn, and Ava  

Sister – Colleen Drumm and husband Gary of Knightstown, Indiana

Nephew – Brian Drumm of Cumberland, Indiana  

He is preceded in death by his Parents,  

Friends may visit with the family on Monday April 17, 2023, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. 

Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr.  Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana. Military Honors will follow with the United States Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion Post#68 Argos, Indiana.
