Sam Henry Fugate

Sam Henry Fugate, 88 of Argos, Indiana passed away February 26, 2026, at 3:13 p.m. at his residence. On December 1, 1937, in Jackson, Kentucky Sam was born to John Fugate and Pearl (Napier) Fugate. He had lived in Argos, Indiana for the past 6 years, having lived in North Judson for 22 years prior.

On October 5, 1958, he married Juanita Barnett and together they shared the next 64 years before her passing on August 22, 2023.

Sam was a material handler for Ford Motor Company from 1963 to 1993 and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the U.A.W. with Ford Motor Company. After retiring Juanita and he traveled all over the United States and Mexico.

Sam enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, gardening, and whatever his wife wanted him to do.

He was a member of The Cross church in Rochester, Indiana, and volunteered at Matthews Market. On February 21, 1955, Sam entered the United States Air Force and on September 10, 1957, he received his Honorable Discharge.

Sam is survived by his Daughters – Gwendloyn Craft of Plymouth, Indiana; Jennifer Risner of Syracuse, Indiana; and Michelle Ringer of Argos, Indiana.

8 Grandchildren – Ronnie, Brandon, John, Ben, Tara, Samantha, Tyler, and Maci

12 Great Grandchildren – Reganne, Ruby, Haven, Landon, Anelle, Trip, Nova, Zaylen, Zylex, Adian, Eddie, and Myah    

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son – Phillip Fugate, Grandson – Dylan Craft, Great Grandson - Nickolai Ringer and Son-in-Law – Ellis Risner and Randy Ringer

Entombment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
