Ronald "Ron" Dean Obenchain Sr.

Ronald "Ron" Dean Obenchain, 79 of Bourbon, Indiana passed away April 29, 2026, at 10:05 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On September 3, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois he was born to LaVern Obenchain and Ovella (Brewster) Obenchain. He had lived in Bourbon, Indiana for the past 3 years, and had lived in Marshall County since 1984.

On July 9, 1968, he married Karen Stahl and together they shared the next 58 years.

Ron was a mechanic and owned and operated Ron’s Repair Shop in Argos, Indiana, and had worked at Glenmark Industries, Plymouth, Indiana.  

He was a past member of the VFW #1162 in Plymouth, Indiana and had faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Ron is survived by his Wife Karen Obenchain of Bourbon, Indiana

Son – Gene Allen Obenchain of Bourbon, Indiana

Daughters – Susan Marie Shepperd and husband Roger of Plymouth, Indiana; and Marsha Lynn Obenchain of Tippecanoe, Indiana

11 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter – Kathy Ann Obenchain and Son -  Ronald Obenchain Jr.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 8, 2026, from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Chad Wright officiating. Burial will conclude at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
