Robert "Bob" A. Shafer

Robert “Bob” Alan Shafer, 61 of Albert St., Argos, Indiana died on August 15, 2014 at 11:07 p.m. at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Indiana following injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.  
He was born on January 6, 1953 in Plymouth, Indiana to Ralph Adam Shafer and Berniece Ann (Boyd) Shafer. Bob had lived in the Argos community all of his life.

On September 1, 2013 in Argos, Indiana he married Vickie (O’Connor) Shafer.
He was self-employed as SGS Eco Systems with Heating and Cooling.  
Bob was very involved with Boy Scouts where he obtained his Eagle Scout and was a Master Scout. He was a former member of the Jay-Cees of Argos, Indiana and was on the 4th-a-bration Committee. He attended Argos United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1971 and was proud to be on the National Honor Society while in high school. In 2011 he graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associated Degree in Industrial Applied Science.
Bob loved Notre Dame football and NASCAR. Jeff Gordon was his driver. Bob and Vickie went down to Homestead, Florida every year to watch a race. They stayed with their friends Pastor Kenneth Greathouse and his wife Peggy.
He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, golfing, and gardening. Everyone referred to him as McGyver. He was always willing to help others.

He is survived by his Wife – Vickie Shafer of Argos
Daughter – Melissa Bradley and husband James of Argos, Indiana
Sons – Jason Shafer and wife Laura of Argos, Indiana; and Scott Shafer and fiancé Cherish of North Judson, Indiana; and William (Bill) Moyer of Indianapolis, Indiana
5 Grandchildren - Kaylee Bradley, Kyle Bradley, Austin Brinkman, Aaliyah Shafer, and Jayce Shafer
Mother - Berniece Shafer of Argos, Indiana
Brother – Rick Shafer and wife Shelley of Argos, Indiana
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in Death by his Father – Ralph A. Shafer on November 26, 1970.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.    
Funeral Services will be held on August 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Greathouse and Rev, Dewey L. Miller Jr.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
