Rebecca Sue (Sherer) Hossler

Rebecca Sue (Sherer) Hossler, 73 of Houston, Texas passed away August 26, 2025, at 4:35 p.m. in the Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital, Houston, Texas. On August 5, 1952, in Plymouth, Indiana she was born to Franklin E. Sherer and Mildred May (Kesler) Sherer-Faulkner. She was raised in the Argos community and lived on Hoffman Lake near Atwood, Indiana. She had recently moved to Houston to be near her daughter’s family.

On March 27, 1998, she married Frederick E. Ridenour Hossler and together they shared the next 27 years until his passing on July 12, 2025.

Rebecca worked as a Graphic Artist for R.R. Donnelley and Sons until her retirement. She was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1970.

Rebecca is survived by her Daughter – Katie Falaja and husband Ty of Houston, Texas and Grandchildren -Amara and Ayven

Stepdaughter – Charissa Young and husband Greg of Gibsonton, Florida and Step Grandchildren -Hailey, Colton, and Cara

Sister – Marjorie Buschman and husband Denny of Reynolds, Indiana and JoAnn Frigo and husband Rudy of Highland, Indiana

Brother – Jerry DeWayne Sherer and wife Shirley of Indianapolis, Indiana and Devon Sherer and wife Carmelita of Cicero, Indiana

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Stepfather Herman Faulkner, and Husband

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday September 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Argos United Methodist, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. 

Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Leon D. Pomeroy of the Argos United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
