Owen Eugene Fluckey

Owen Eugene Fluckey, 90 of Indiana Ave., Argos, Indiana died on December 3, 2016 at 2:20 a.m. at the Elkhart Hospice House, Elkhart, Indiana where he had been in declining health since the middle of March.
He was born on April 25, 1926 in Lakeville, Indiana to Clella D. Fluckey and Anna E. (Goheen) Fluckey.
He has lived in the Argos Community since 2001, after living in Plymouth-Myers Lake area for 31 years.

On April 3, 1948 in Burr Oak, Indiana he married Bertha M. Schrimsher and together they have shared the past 68 years.
Owen was a Auto Mechanic and he worked for Del-Monte in Plymouth, Indiana for 24 years as a Maintenance Supervisor.  
Owen was a graduate of the Aubbeenaubbee High School, Leiter’s Ford, Indiana with the class of 1944. He then joined the United States Navy on April 20, 1944 during WWII, and on June 8, 1946 Motor Machinist's Mate Third Class Fluckey received a Honorable Discharged. After being discharged from the United States Navy he joined the United States Army Reserve from 1946 to 1954.
He was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, Indiana; James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana; and the Finney-Shilling VFW Post #6919, Culver, Indiana.
  
Owen is survived by his Wife – Bertha Fluckey, Argos, Indiana
Daughter – Brenda L. Hutchison and husband Jim of Argos, Indiana
Grandchildren – Aaron J. Hutchison and wife Jennifer of Argos, Indiana; Shannon M. Hanselman and husband Rusty of Argos, Indiana
5 Great-Grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Sister – Delores Fluckey.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday December 6, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.  
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 19056 Gumwood Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery Argos, Indiana with the United States Navy Honor Guard and the James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68 Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.
