Marilyn Sue (Grubbs) Welborn, 83; formerly of Argos, Indiana, had lived the past 3 years at the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson, Indiana, died on September 9, 2017 at 9:20 a.m. at the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson, Indiana where she had been in declining health.While a resident at Catherine Kasper Home she was very fond of the Sisters and Staff that took wonderful care of her. She enjoyed her time there immensely.
She was born on February 12, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to Robert R. Grubbs and Bertha Anne (Malone) Grubbs.
She had lived in Argos since 1967, coming from South Bend, Indiana.
On June 22, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana she married Charles Ernest Welborn; together they shared 62 years of marriage. Charles preceded her in death on November 22, 2014.
She was a Housewife/Homemaker.
Marilyn was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School with the class of 1952. She was the organist at church and played for many weddings and funerals. Marilyn loved to sew and was a seamstress for many people and taught several how to sew. She was a volunteer for the NIC Unit as a Baby Rocker at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
Marilyn and Charlie opened their home thru the years for young adults in the Argos community.
Marilyn is survived by her Daughters – Anne Welborn of Mishawaka, Indiana; Mindy Bailey and husband Lyndon of Argos, Indiana; and Susan Lyons and husband Howard of Tucson, Arizona
Sons – Thomas Welborn of Plymouth, Indiana; and Jon Welborn and wife Raquel of Dallas, Georgia.
15 Grandchildren – Mandy Nifong and husband Andy; Scott Bailey and wife Mandy; Chad Bailey and wife Kylie; Alyssa Hoffman and husband Mark; Allyson Green and husband Denver; Emmalee Lyons; Kaylyn Jayroe and husband Cody; Erin Hymans; Laura Milliser; Lisa Bringham and husband Jake; Nick Welborn; Brandon Welborn; Enrico Welborn; Jose Welborn; and Selena Welborn

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brother – Mike Grubbs, and Sister – Margaret Grubbs
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana; and an hour prior to the funeral service at Crossroad Church, 1650 N. Oak Dr., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. September 14, 2017 at the church with Rev. Robert E. Rice and Rev. Rob Mace.
Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
