Loy Wade Fishburn

Loy Wade Fishburn, 91 of Argos, Indiana passed away October 9, 2023, at 6:53 a.m. at his residence. On August 8, 1932, in Argos, Indiana Loy was born to Donald W. Fishburn and Cristol D. (Irwin) Fishburn. He’s lived in Marshall County all his life.

On October 6, 1957, in Niles, Michiagan he married Annabelle Low and together they shared the next 61 years until she preceded him on May 10, 2018. He then married Sheryl Stiles on October 18, 2019, and was blessed with 4 years together.

Loy was a farmer, welder, schoolteacher. He taught at Wabash Vocational School for several years and worked for Marshall County Highway in the Maintenance Department. He was a past member of First Baptist Church, Argos, Indiana; and attended Faith Baptist for several years. On November 15, 1959, Loy accepted Christ as his Savior and became very active in the church. Loy was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1950. He served his country in the United States Army from July 1, 1954, to June 29, 1956, when he received his Honorable Discharge.

Loy is survived by his Wife – Sheryl Fishburn of Argos

Daughter – Denene Fishburn of Plymouth

Sons – Steve Fishburn and wife Cindy of Richland Center; Mike Fishburn and wife Lora of Argos; and Jeff Fishburn and wife Lora of Argos

15 Grandchildren 22 Great Grandchildren 10 Great-Great Grandchildren   

Step-Children – Renea Bray of Greenfield, Indiana; and Shawn Preston and wife Sara of Tucson, Arizona

6 Step Grandchildren and 3 Step Great Grandchildren  

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers – DeVere Fishburn and his twin Roy Fishburn, Sisters – Bernita Hessler and Bonnie Soloman.  

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday October 12, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. 

Funeral Services on October 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Fishburn. Burial will follow at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana
