Lila Jeanette (Pomeroy) Parrish, 97 of Plymouth, Indiana and formerly of the Argos community passed away December 28, 2023, at 12:24 p.m. in Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. On February 17, 1926, in Plymouth she was born to Stewart Pomeroy and Vera (Smith) Pomeroy. Lila had lived most of her life in the Argos community.
On August 27, 1944, she married Charles “Pat” E. Parrish and together they shared the next 46 years until Pat’s passing on September 18, 1990.
Lila was a Housewife/Homemaker. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Argos, Indiana, and was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1944. In her adult life she had been involved with REACT – CB Radio Club and other numerous clubs. She spent many years camping at Lake Arrowhead and Jellystone. Most of Lila's life was spent quietly helping in the lives of others. Lila lived her life for her family. She was very rooted in her faith and a Godly women by all those who knew her.
Lila is survived by her Daughter – Michelle Cook and husband Bruce of Rockwood, Tennessee
Son – Michael Parrish and wife Lori of Argos, Indiana
Grandchildren – Derek Pontious and wife Karen of Rochester, Kellie Shei and husband Terry of Argos, Bryan Cook of Seattle, Washington; Nathan Cook and wife Liara of Rolla, Missouri; Caleb Cook of Rolla, Missouri; Kaitie Cook of Rockwood, Tennessee; Seth Cook of Dayton, Tennessee; Tiffany Herr and husband Cole of Plymouth, Indiana; Stefany Edmonds and husband Sam of Noblesville, Indiana
11 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren
Brother – James “Jim” Pomeroy of Bremen, Indiana
Son-in-Law - Dave Pontious of Rochester, Indiana
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Daughters – Judith Crouch and Patricia Pontious, Brother – Bobby Pomeroy, Sisters – Peg Kring, Evelyn Beam, Sister-in-Law – Shirley Pomeroy, and Brother-in-Law – Richard Kring
Friends may visit with the family on Friday January 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church,11525 State Road 10., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Cory Fehr. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
