Larry Lenvel Stone, 85 of rural Argos, Indiana passed away March 11, 2026, at 1:43 p.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. On December 4, 1940, in Pikeville, Kentucky Lary was born to Prock & Grace (Salyer) Stone. He lived most of his life in the Argos community.
On December 24, 1960, in Claypool, Indiana Larry married the love of his life Ethel McKenzie and together they shared the next 65 years.
Larry was a truck driver and farmed the family farm for over 40 years.
He was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1959. Larry always enjoyed a hand of cards at Chico’s in Argos and loved watching the horse race, placing a bet or two on them. He was instrumental in teaching all his children and grandchildren the values and respect of hunting, and how to drive a vehicle.
Larry is survived by his Wife – Ethel Stone of Argos
Daughter – Jacqueline Campbell of Argos
Sons – Jeffrey Stone and wife Rise of Rochester; Jerry Stone and wife Melinda of Plymouth
Grandchildren – Emilee Tehrani and husband Matt; Cassandra Campbell and husband Tony; Zachary Stone and wife Taegan; Kole Stone and fiancé Shalea; Chandler Campbell, Sam Stone and wife Sonia; Gracie Paton and husband Hunter; and Chaz Downey
Great Grandchildren – Kaydence; Harper; Winifred; Charles; Magdaleane; Savina; Oaklynn, Kamran; Theo; and Oliver
Brother – Landa Stone of Bremen
He is preceded in death by his Parents; Grandson – Chase Stone; Brothers - Paul Stone, Albert Stone, Herbert Stone, Ernie Stone, and Robert Stone; Sister – Joyce Weaver
Friends may visit with the family Monday March 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Hensley. Burial will conclude at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
