Larry Robert DeWitt

Larry Robert DeWitt, 85 of Argos, Indiana passed away July 9, 2024, at 6:20 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, Indiana where he had been in declining health for several months. On October 10, 1938, in Argos, Indiana Larry (affectionately known as Squeaky) was born to Howard W. DeWitt and Lorene Labelle (Hochstetler) DeWitt. He had lived in the Argos community all his life.

On October 12, 1957, in Culver, Indiana at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Larry married Ellen Arlene Smith and together they shared the past 67 years.

Larry worked for Lear Corp. for 63 years retiring in 2022. He was a graduate of Culver High School class of 1957 and loved going to his Grandchildrens sporting events and watching his Grandsons motocross races, and a faithful 4-H supporter.

Larry is survived by his Wife – Ellen DeWitt of Argos, Indiana

Daughter – Justine Sauer and husband Jay of Plymouth, Indiana

Sons – Alan DeWitt and wife Kim of Plymouth, Indiana; Bart DeWitt and wife Maleta DeWitt of Argos, Indiana; and Vernon DeWitt of Argos, Indiana

Grandchildren – Corey Sauer and wife Ashlee of Warsaw; Nathan Sauer of Plymouth; Cindel Sauer and Adam of Plymouth; Colten Sauer and wife Amanda of Plymouth; Jenilee Mark and husband Shawn of Argos; Lacy Scheutzow and husband John of Ft. Wayne; Derrick DeWitt of Plymouth; Ryan DeWitt and wife Jasmine of Plymouth; and Amber DeWitt and Ryan of Warsaw, Indiana

30 Great Grandchildren              5 Great-Great Grandchildren

Preceded in Death by: Parents, Sister – Helen Osborn, Great Grandson – Bodie Alan Scheutzow

Friends may visit with the family Monday July 15, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1 pm at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday July 15, 2024, at the funeral home with Rev. Justin Chambers of New Song Church. Burial will follow at Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver, Indiana.
