Kenneth "Ken" Michael Smith

Kenneth "Ken" Michael Smith, 58 of Rochester, Indiana passed away on June 12, 2023, at 4:50 p.m. at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, Lafayette, Indiana. On September 27, 1964, in Plymouth, Indiana he was born to Richard K. Smith and Lenora (Overmyer) Smith. He had lived in Rochester, Indiana since 1988 having grown up in the Argos community.

On December 30, 1993, in Rochester, Indiana he married the love of his life Melody Lynn Glassburn and together they shared the next 29 years.

Ken worked as a CNC machinist at Zimmer-Biomet in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a member of the Rochester Eagles Aerie 852, Rochester, Indiana and a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1982.  Ken was a die hard IU basketball fan and loved to watch Notre Dame football  and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. As the jokester of the family, he was always cracking jokes and "earitating" others. Whenever you heard laughter Ken was surely at the center.  He was an incredible husband, dad, papaw and brother, who will truly be missed.

Ken is survived by his Wife – Melody Smith of Rochester, Indiana

Daughters – Kendra Smith and fiancé Terrell Pearson of Greenwood, Indiana and Nicole Brubaker of North Manchester, Indiana.

3 Grandchildren – Rhys, Kora, and Nolan    

Sisters – Kathy Evans of Argos, Indiana; Karen Smith of Argos, Indiana; and Kim Lockwood and husband Jim of Plymouth, Indiana  

Aunt - Mary Huber of Syracuse, Indiana

Stepfather- Robert Voreis of Argos, Indiana

Lifelong Friend - Dona Leadbetter

He is preceded in death by his Parents – Richard Smith and Lenora Voreis

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday June 20, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.   

Funeral Services will be held on June 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martin Furrow of The Cross, Rochester, Indiana. Entombment will take place at  Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
