Obituary

Juanita Golden (Allen) Wharton, 97 of Plymouth, Indiana passed away on June 10, 2023, at 1:22 p.m. at her residence. On November 13, 1925, in Salyersville, Kentucky she was born to Claude Allen and Theodosha (Hazlet) Allen. She’s lived in Plymouth, Indiana since 1978, coming from Kentucky.

On March 12, 1984, in Argos, Indiana she married Clyde M. Wharton and together they shared the next 17 years before his passing on September 22, 2001.

Juanita was a Housewife/Homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Argos, Indiana.

We celebrate a woman that was so full of life, even to the end.  If you had the opportunity to meet her, you knew that she loved freely and unconditionally.  She was quick witted, feisty, and always smiling!  You didn’t go to her house without being offered something to eat, maybe even be asked to stay the night.  She loved her children and grandchildren.  You would never leave without her saying “I love you Honey!”  Although Juanita knew many people and considered them friends, all of her time was spent with what meant the most to her, her family!

She read her bible daily, and at night sat on the edge of her bed praying, out loud, for all of her family.  She would ask God to protect them, and her biggest hope is that all of them would be saved! She looked forward to Spring and Summer where she would tend to her yard and garden.   That was her favorite time of year. She was very independent, loved being in her own home.  It was important to her to be home.  We are so thankful she was able to be there til the end.  To know her was too love her!  Thankful God gave us so many years of love and memories with this wonderful lady!

Juanita is survived by her Children – Velma Jean Binion and husband Phillip of Plymouth, Indiana; Roger May and wife Sandy of Plymouth, Indiana; Helen Myers of Culver, Indiana; Sharon Edington of Argos, Indiana; Linda Smalley of Plymouth, Indiana; Timothy Rowe of Plymouth, Indiana; Allen Rowe of Bremen, Indiana; Robin Ortiz of Warsaw, Indiana; and Nancy Arriaga and husband Jaime of Plymouth, Indiana.
