Norma Joyce “Joy” Jennings
Loving mother, grandmother, wife, cheerleader, & Child of God, Norma Joyce Jennings, known to all as “Joy,” 89, entered Heaven, as family members lifted her up in prayer at her home, on Sunday June 11, 2023.
Joy was born on January 27, 1934, in Burr Oak, Indiana, to Forrest & Dolores (Woolington) LaMunion. She graduated from Tyner High School in May of 1952, and she married John Edward Jennings, who survives, on June 1, 1952. For the next seventy-one years, John & Joy lived in the same farmhouse in Argos where they worked side-by-side on the dairy farm, raised five sons, and hosted the many family reunions consisting of, currently, over sixty descendants.
Joy was a humble homemaker with a perpetual smile, and she has left a legacy of love that will last for generations! She enjoyed cooking, gardening, socializing, and serving people in need. With a passion for reading/studying The Bible, Joy was bold about telling people about Jesus. She was a member of the Argos Civic Club, Walnut Ruralites Home Economics Club, Bunco Fellowship Club, the Argos United Methodist Church, and God’s Kingdom!

All five sons survive — Stephen (Mary) of Rensselaer, Bruce (Sharon) of Bremen, Douglas (Carol) of Logansport, Scott (Staci) of Tippecanoe, & Brian (Cheryl) of Argos. In addition, John & Joy are loved by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
