Jonathan "Jon" Jay Hayn

Jonathan “Jon” Jay Hayn, 47 of rural Argos, Indiana passed away August 10, 2026, at 5:08 p.m. at his family’s farm following a grain bin accident. On December 16, 1978, in South Bend, Indiana he was born to Merl Hayn and Susan (Wolfe) Hayn. He was a lifelong resident of Argos, graduating from Argos High School in 1998.

Jon worked a few different jobs in the community in his youth but dedicated over 20 years working alongside his family on the family farm.

Jon loved motorsports and enjoyed watching racing and going to any race track any opportunity he had. He was also a giant sports fan, but watching his nieces and nephew play sports brought him the most joy. He will leave an empty space in the Argos stands. He enjoyed spending time with the family going on many family trips together, having game nights, watching sports, and having family dinners together. He attended First Baptist Church for many years while growing up and he has been a part of the Hoosier Old Wheels car club for many years.

Jon is survived by his parents Merl and Susan Hayn of Argos, brother Michael Hayn of Argos, sister Karin Conklin (James) of Argos, nieces Elaina and Kaelyn, and nephew Benton. He is also survived by Numerous Aunts, Uncle and Cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents – Don and Mary Hayn and Maternal Grandparents – Willard Wolfe and Celesta Conover

Friends may visit with the family on Monday August 17, 2026, from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 11525 State Road 10, Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Nick Webber and James Ely. A private burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana

Memorial Contributions per the family's wishes can be made to the Argos Athletics Department, 500 Yearick St., Argos, Indiana.
