John DePue Obituary
John Lewis DePue, 87 of Westview Court, Argos, Indiana died on January 3, 2017 at 8:25 p.m. at the South Bend Hospice House, South Bend, Indiana where he had been in declining health. He was born on November 26 1929 in Miami County near Macy, Indiana to Lyle & Cleo (Mathias) DePue.
He has lived in the Argos Community most of his life.
On August 12, 1950 in Tiosa, Indiana at the Tiosa Brethren Church he married Rosemary E. Scott and together they have shared the past 66 years.
John was a Building Contractor and for over 25 years he and his partner Roy Tracy owned and operated Tracy and DePue Construction.
He attended the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, Indiana.
John was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1948.
John is survived by his Wife – Rosemary DePue, Argos, Indiana
Daughters – Rose Anna VanHorn and husband Jon of Culver, Indiana; and Paula Arvesen of Bremen, Indiana
5 Grandchildren - Brandon VanHorn and wife Krista of Dubuque, Iowa; Scott Arvesen and wife Tricia of Plymouth, Indiana; Jeff VanHorn and wife Emily of Monterey, Indiana; Stacy Bennitt and husband Tony of LaPorte, Indiana; and Patrick Arvesen and wife Samantha of Mishawaka, Indiana 10 Great Grandchildren
Sister – Lena Tomforde of Boca Raton, Florida
Brother – Lawrence DePue and wife Jean of Buchanan, Michigan
Sister-in-Law – Karla DePue of Winamac, Indiana; Marietta Scott of Rochester, Indiana
Brother-in-Law – Jim Swihart of Rochester, Indiana
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brother – Lloyd DePue, Sisters – Mary Swihart and Marjorie Davis, Son-in-Law – Mark Arvesen
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday January 8, 2017 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
Burial will follow at the Reichter Cemetery, Talma, Indiana.
