With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Wolfe on February 3, 2026, after a brief illness. Jerry passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 23, 1942, in Fowler, Indiana to Sam and Earleen Wolfe, Jerry grew up on the family farm, learning early the value of hard work. He was a proud Indiana State University alumnus and began his career teaching science in Culver, Indiana where while cruising town in his GTO he caught the eye of the love of his life, Beverly Barshes. They were married on June 4, 1966, and later settled in Seymour, Indiana, where they raised their two children and were active members of St. Ambrose church. Jerry’s strong work ethic led him to become Vice President of Sales at Central Pharmaceuticals. Despite extensive travel, he always prioritized his family, particularly cheering on his children and teammates at their sporting events with his deep, booming voice.
In 2012, Jerry and Beverly retired and moved to Hillsboro, Oregon, to be closer to family. He became an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and was a devoted "Pop," sharing his love of math and science with his grandchildren. Jerry was passionate about sports, music, food, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty (Wolfe) Kitterman. Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly; son Derek (LaDonna) Wolfe of Hillsboro, OR; and daughter Rachael (Mo) Banaei of Rockville, MD, along with six cherished grandchildren. Jerry will be remembered for the legacy of love he established and for living a life defined by balance, integrity, and devotion. A memorial service will be held at St Matthews Catholic Church on March 23, 2026.
