James (Jim) Allen Thomas

James "Jim" Allen Thomas, 76 of  Warsaw, Indiana died on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at his residence where he had been in declining health. On August 8, 1941 in Warsaw, Indiana he was born to Wayne Thomas and Doris (Koontz) Thomas and had lived in the Atwood community all of his life.

On December 13, 1986 in Bourbon, Indiana he married Melodie A. Bolinger and together they had shared the past 31 years.
Jim had been a Farmer, and operated a Milk Route for many years; he had also worked for Coursey Construction hauling asphalt, J & M Gravel, Etna Green, Indiana; and Clunette Elevator hauling Grain.  

Jim was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Atwood, Indiana; and a graduate of Atwood High School with the class of 1960 where he had played Basketball for the Greyhounds.
Jim served on the Atwood Fire Department and had served as Captain.
He also raised and showed the breed of Hampshire and Southdown Sheep for many years.
Jim was a Indiana University fan thru and thru, and loved Bob Knight.

Jim is survived by his Wife – Melodie Thomas, Warsaw, Indiana
Children – Kelly Wogoman and husband Tom of Warsaw, Indiana; Brian Thomas and wife Wendy of Indianapolis, Indiana; Amy Curtis and husband Scott of Culver, Indiana; and Alan Stackhouse of Burket, Indiana
5 Grandchildren – Kelsey, Josh, and Seth Wogoman; and Vance and Cameron Curtis
Sister – Sue Thomas-Hoffman of Atwood, Indiana
Brother – Bill Thomas and wife Becky of Atwood, Indiana
Life-Long Friend – Jim Irwin of Atwood, Indiana

He is preceded in death by his Parents.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday January 31, 2018 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 105 Hovey Street, Atwood, Indiana.  
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 105 Hovey Street, Atwood, Indiana with Rev. Mike Beezley of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at the Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood, Indiana.
