Gladys Joyce (Berger) Kolar

Gladys Joyce (Berger) Kolar, 83 of Lake Ave., Plymouth, Indiana and formerly of the Argos community passed away November 17, 2023, at 3:25 p.m. at Autumn Trace Senior Living, Plymouth, Indiana. On March 8, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois Joyce was born to Griffin Jack Berger and Edith Katherine (Yoder) Berger. She had lived in Plymouth for the past 4 years having spent 70 years in the Argos community.

On September 27, 1958, Joyce married Richard Andrew Kolar at the Isaac Walton in Argos, Indiana and together they shared 62 years until his passing on June 14, 2020.

Joyce was a housewife/homemaker, a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Plymouth, Indiana. She was a graduate of Argos High school with the class of 1958.

Joyce is survived by her Daughters – Cindy Rhoads of Valdosta, Georgia; Jackie Mullaney and husband Steve of Valdosta, and Pamela Shippy and husband Brian of Rochester, Indiana

Son – Dean Kolar and wife Lynn of Argos, Indiana

9 Grandchildren    7 Great Grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son – Carl Kolar, Sisters – Carol Madonna, Esther Sheeks, and Jean Eskridge, Brother – David Berger

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday November 21, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral Home with Elder Lennon Harris. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
