Evelyn Joan (Pomeroy) Beam

Evelyn Joan (Pomeroy) Beam, 91 of First St., Argos, Indiana, died on January 17, 2019 at 8:20 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana following a brief illness.

On November 21, 1927 in Plymouth, Indiana she was born to Stewart Pomeroy and Vera Amelia (Smith) Pomeroy and  had lived most of her life in the Argos community.  On January 23, 1944 in Argos, Indiana she married Lawrence E. Beam and together they shared 67 years before his passing on September 30, 2011.

Evelyn was a homemaker/house wife and had been Manager of Harvey’s Dime Store, Argos, Indiana; and most recently employed at Wal-Mart, Plymouth, Indiana

She was a member of Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, Indiana; and attended Argos High School.

Evelyn is survived by her Sons – William Beam of Argos, Indiana; Timothy Beam and wife Pamela of Maineville, Ohio; Daughter – Beverly Barrett of Argos, Indiana

5 Grandchildren – Elizabeth Yankauskas and husband Brian; Melanie Dean and husband Mark; Amanda McHugh and husband Michael; Brian Beam and wife Corey; Ben Beam 

9 Great-Grandchildren

1 Sister – Lila Parrish, Argos, Indiana

1 Brother – James Pomeroy, Bremen, Indiana

She is preceded in Death by her Parents, Husband, Infant Son – Larry Beam, Son-in-Law – Bud Barrett, Sister – Peggy Kring, and Sister-in-Law – Shirley Pomeroy

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday January 22, 2019 from 10 am -12 noon at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana.

Services will be at 12:00 noon following the visitation at the Walnut Church of the Brethren with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. Burial will follow at the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
