Earl Louis Betz Sr., 74 of 11th Rd., Plymouth, Indiana died June 4, 2014 at 2:19 a.m. at home surrounded by his family. He had been in declining health for the past couple of years.
Earl was born November 22, 1939 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Louis & Florence (Button) Betz and he has lived in the Argos community since 1973, coming from Porter County, Indiana.
In March of 1961 in Wheeler, Indiana he married Joan White. Later they divorced.
Earl was a farmer and had worked for Mike Materna Farms in Hamlet, Indiana and was a truck driver, driving for himself and Mike Fishburn Farms.
He was a member of the Knox Lodge No 807 Loyal Order Of Moose, Knox, Indiana.

Earl is survived by his Daughters – Michelle Irwin of Plymouth, Indiana; and Monica Langenheder and husband Gary of St. Libory, Nebraska
Son – Earl L. Betz Jr. and wife Sarah of Plymouth, Indiana
Grandchildren – Keith Irwin of Plymouth, Indiana; Craig Irwin of Dearborn, Michigan ; Amanda Irwin of Plymouth, Indiana; Michael Fishburn and wife Emily of Argos, Indiana; Matthew Fishburn and wife Lesa of Weskan, Kansas; Merrill Fishburn of St. Libory, Nebraska; and Tyler, Payton, and Braxton Betz of Plymouth, Indiana and 10 Great-Grandchildren - Douglas, Coleman, Beau, and Stephen Fishburn all of Argos, Indiana and Haylee, Emma, Aubrie, Landon, Norah, and Owen Fishburn of Weskan, Kansas.
Step -Grandchildren - Kevin, Schulyler, Joshua, and Caleb Langenheder all of St. Libory, Nebraska.
Sisters - Eunice Rich and husband Lloyd of Rochester, Indiana; and Irene Hinderer of Anderson, South Carolina
He is preceded in Death by his Parents.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday June 8, 2014 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be on Monday June 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, Indiana.
Burial will follow at the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Poplar Grove, Culver, Indiana
