Donald Edward Smith

Donald Edward Smith, 88 of Deming, New Mexico and formerly of Rural Fulton County, Indiana passed away on April 12, 2026, at 9:50 p.m. in Bartlett Nursing and Assisted Living, El Paso, Texas. On January 22, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio he was born to George A. Smith and Linda (Hoover) Smith. He lived most of his life in Marshall County, Indiana

On January 26, 2008, at Walnut Church of the Brethren he married Ellen M. (Frush) Reed and together they shared the next 13 years before Ellen passed away on October 15, 2021.

Donald was a Farmer and had worked Ritz-Craft Homes in Argos, Indiana.

He was a member of the Walnut Church, Argos, Indiana and served with Gideons International as a director. Donald was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1957. While in high school he was active in 4-H and FFA earning the Outstanding Dairy Farmer and American Farmer Awards.

Donald is survived by his Sister – Iva Jean DePue of Niles, Michigan

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife

Graveside Services will be held on Friday April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Church Cemetery, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. David Williams. Committal will follow immediately in the Walnut Church Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
