Darwin Hartman Obituary
Darwin George Hartman, 85 of Olive Trail, Plymouth, Indiana died on September 19, 2017 at 11:15 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana.
On January 10, 1932 in Rutland, Indiana he was born to William Lawrence Hartman and Orpha (Ringer) Hartman and had lived all of his life in Marshall County.
On June 20, 1959 at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Culver, Indiana he married Alice May (Quivey) Hartman. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2013.
Darwin was a farmer who raised crops, cattle, and hogs. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed watching the crops grow each season, attending farm auctions, and repairing and talking about tractors and other farm equipment.
He attended Hibbard and Culver schools.
On January 12, 1954, Darwin answered the call of duty to the United States Army and received Military Police Training and was a Disciplinary Guard. He received his Honorable Discharge on January 11, 1956.
He attended the Union Church of the Brethren, Plymouth, Indiana.
Darwin is survived by his Children – Kathryn Middaugh of Plymouth, Indiana; David Hartman and wife Rebecca of Plymouth, Indiana; Nancy Suseland and husband Robert of Plymouth, Indiana; Jim Hartman of Culver, Indiana.
Grandchildren – Matthew Middaugh; Julie Shupryt and husband Jason; Robert Suseland; Andrew Suseland; Elizabeth Campbell and husband Gabriel; and Rachel Hartman
Great Grandchild – Rose Shupryt
Brother – Leo Hartman and wife Marge of Plymouth, Indiana
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, and Sister – Mary Ruth Thompson
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday September 23, 2017 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation on Saturday September 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don Deel of the Union Church of the Brethren, Plymouth, Indiana.
Burial will follow at the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Poplar Grove, State Road 10, Culver, Indiana with the United States Army Honor Guard and James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana conducting Military Honors.
