Christopher Otto Grossman

Christopher Otto Grossman, 57, slipped out of this life on February 8, 2026, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC.

Chris, known to some friends as G-Money, had been hospitalized since a seizure and fall in August that fractured two cervical vertebrae and left him a quadriplegic. The wonderful doctors, nurses, and aides at Prisma kept him comfortable and showered him with love for the past 6 months.

Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Grossman, of Mauldin, SC; his brother, Gregory Grossman and wife, Katherine, of Greenville; Chris's nephew, Jackson Grossman of Greenville; and a niece, Emerson King of Greenville. Previously deceased are Chris' father, Robert Grossman, and step-father, Ken Burger. Also predeceased are his grandparents, Ruth and Holice Grossman of Argos, IN, and Hamilton and Arloene Green of South Whitley, IN.

Chris was born in Plymouth, IN, on May 11, 1968, and grew up in Argos and attended school there. Best memories were cheering for the Argos Dragons all the way to the '79 state final basketball tournament and attending many Notre Dame football games.

The family moved to Charleston, SC, in 1985, where Chris became a "yes ma'am, no ma'am" Southern boy. He made new friends and enjoyed trips to the beach and local sports. Despite challenges with disabilities, traveling was always a part of his adult life. His favorite trip might have been an Alaskan cruise, but he also loved trips to Washington, DC, California, Canada, Mexico, England, and the Caribbean. He visited about 10 theme parks, from Disney World to Disneyland, and most recently Universal Studios and Dollywood. Chris had a strong work ethic and loved his various jobs at Lowe's, Reinvented, and Food Lion in Charleston. Health issues and being close to his brother were reasons for moving to Greenville in 2022, where Chris became an active three-year resident at Thrive Upstate.

No one was more passionate about Classic Rock music than Chris or had more knowledge about his favorite bands of the 70s and 80s. He attended numerous concerts; Pink Floyd at Clemson's Death Valley may have been his highlight. Those who were close to Chris will remember his loud, contagious laugh and his kind soul.

Locally, the family will welcome friends who want to share a hug and a memory of Chris from 2 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday April 18, 2026, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan Street, Argos, Indiana.  Cremated remains will be interred at Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos.
