Charles E. Welborn, 82 of Michigan Road, Argos, Indiana died November 22, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. at his residence following a short illness. He was born on February 16, 1932 in Bourbon, Indiana to Virgil G. Welborn and Hazel B. (Austin) Welborn and had lived in the Argos community since 1967, and has lived in Marshall County all of his life.
On June 22, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana he married Marilyn Sue Grubbs and together they shared the last 62 years with one another.
Charles was the owner of Gen-Tech Farm Seed in Argos, Indiana since 1972. He had farmed before that.
He attended the Cross church in Rochester, Indiana; he was a faithful supporter of Jerry Falwell and the Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Charles was a graduate of Bourbon High School class of 1950 and was the Valedictorian of his class.
He is survived by his Wife – Marilyn Welborn, Argos, Indiana
Daughters – Anne Welborn of Mishawaka, Indiana; Mindy Bailey and husband Lyndon of Argos, Indiana; and Susan Lyons and husband Howard of Tucson, Arizona
Sons – Thomas Welborn of Plymouth, Indiana; and Jon Welborn and wife Raquel of Dallas, Georgia.
15 Grandchildren – Mandy Nifong and husband Andy; Scott Bailey and wife Mandy; Chad Bailey and wife Kylie; Alyssa Hoffman and husband Mark; Allyson Green and husband Denver; Emmalee Lyons; Kaylyn Jayroe and husband Cody; Erin Hymans and husband Andrew; Laura Milliser; Lisa Bringham and husband Jake; Nick Welborn; Brandon Welborn; Enrico Welborn; Jose Welborn; and Selena Welborn 12 Great-Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters – Mary Bernaert and Lucille Peckman, and Brothers – Carl Welborn, Glen Welborn, John Welborn, David Welborn, LeRoy Welborn, and Everett Welborn.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday November 28, 2014 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana; and an hour prior to the funeral service at Crossroad Church, 1650 N. Oak Dr., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. November 29, 2014 at the church with Rev. John Branch; Rev. Martin Furrow; and Rev. Rob Mace.
Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
