Betty June Hagenbush, 86 of E. Williams St., Argos, Indiana died on February 13, 2015 at 7:22 a.m. at her residence. She has been in declining health for the past year.
Betty was born on June 27, 1928 in Sparta, Illinois to Ernest E. Preslar & Fannie Lucile (Williams) Preslar. Betty’s mom died shortly after giving birth to her and her twin sister Bobby.
She came to Argos when she was 11 years old to live with her Aunt & Uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Gale and Bea Rockhill.
On February 15, 1948 in Plymouth, Indiana she married Charles “Red” Richard Hagenbush and they spent nearly 67 years together.
Betty worked for the Landis Nursing Home and Klapp’s Nursing Home, both in Argos, Indiana and was a homemaker/housewife. She also worked at Grandma's Kitchen in Argos, Indiana washing Dishes. Betty graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1947.
Betty is survived by her Husband – Charles “Red” Richard Hagenbush of Argos, Indiana
Daughter – Gayle Kintigh of Goshen, Indiana
Sons – Charles K. Hagenbush of Argos, Indiana; and Kent I. Hagenbush and wife Geralyn Of Fort Wayne, Indiana
8 Grandchildren 6 Great-Grandchildren
Sister – Lucille Olds and husband Will of Sebring, Florida
Brothers – Eugene Preslar and wife Lucille of Sparta, Illinois; Orville Preslar and wife Rita Rose of Belvidere, Illinois; Otis Preslar of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Allen Preslar and wife Beverley of Oregon
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Sisters – Merle Preslar; Marian Wahlman; and her twin sister Bobby Carpenter, Brothers – Edward Preslar; Max Preslar; and Everett Preslar
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday February 17, 2015 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 19056 Gumwood Rd., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. February 18, 2015 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 19056 Gumwood Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
