Bertha Mae (Schrimsher) Fluckey

Bertha Mae (Schrimsher) Fluckey, 96 of Argos, Indiana passed away February 3, 2026, at 5:03 a.m. in her residence. On December 23, 1929, in Culver, Indiana Bertha was born to Samuel H. Schrimsher and Mary Ann (Seese) Schrimsher. She has lived in the Argos Community since 2001, after living in Plymouth-Myers Lake area for 31 years.

April 3, 1948, in Burr Oak, Indiana she married Owen Eugene Fluckey and together they shared 68 years before his passing on December 3, 2016.

In her earlier years Bertha had worked at the Candy Kitchen and Harvey’s Dime Store. She retired in 1985 from Del-Monte Foods in Plymouth, Indiana.

She was a graduate of the Culver High School with the class of 1947 and was a member of the Walnut Church, Argos, Indiana. She and Owen were members of several camper clubs and wintered in Texas for 25 years. 

Bertha is survived by her daughter – Brenda L. Hutchison and husband Jim of Argos, Indiana

Grandchildren – Aaron J. Hutchison and wife Jennifer of Argos; Shannon M. Hanselman of Rochester, Indiana

5 Great-Grandchildren – Triston, Weylan, Alaina Hutchison and Hazel, Owen Hanselman

Brother – Glen Schrimsher of Plymouth, Indiana

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister – Barbara Arndt, and Brother Samuel Schrimsher.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday February 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Dean. Burial will conclude the service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
