Bernice Hazel (Mevis) Calhoun

Bernice Hazel (Mevis) Calhoun, 78 of Argos, Indiana passed away on September 1, 2023, at 3:30 a.m. in her residence. On December 4, 1944, in Plymouth, Indiana Bernice was born to Dale Russell Mevis and Margaret (Baker) Mevis. She lived in the Argos community for the past 30 years, coming from Culver, Indiana.

Bernice worked for 20 plus years at Bomarko in Plymouth, Indiana, retiring in 2017. She graduated from Culver High School with the class of 1962.

Bernice is survived by her Daughter – Denise DeVos and husband Pete of Argos.

Sons – Dale Lenig of Argos; Wes Lenig and wife Crystal of Plymouth; Craig Lenig and wife Traci of Plymouth.

11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild    

Sisters – Barb Boyd of Argos and Mary Rex of Plymouth, Indiana  

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Son – Andrew Leffert, Sisters – Carol Mevis and Joan Cowsert, and Brother – Bob Mevis

Graveside Gathering will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Burr Oak Cemetery, 19540 14B Road., Culver, Indiana.
