Barbara Anne (Marks) Harley, 81 of Gumwood Road, Argos, Indiana died October 10, 2014 at 3:59 p.m. at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born on August 27, 1933 in Plymouth, Indiana to Nelson A. Marks & Lula Susan (Reese) Marks and had lived all of her life in Marshall County.
On August 8, 1953 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren in Argos, Indiana followed with a Honeymoon to Mackinac Island, Michigan she married Charles Glendon Harley who preceded her on June 11, 2008.
Barb was a Housewife/Homemaker and worked with her husband taking care of Inventory and Bookkeeping for C&S Outdoor Equipment.
She was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, Indiana; Walnut Ruralette Home Economics Club; and The Red Hat’s Society.
Barbara was a graduate of Plymouth High School class of 1951.
Barb and Charlie wintered in Florida from 1983 to 2008 when Charlie passed away, and Barb continued to winter in Florida.
Barb enjoyed shuffle board, playing cards, and Bingo along with sewing, but one of her proudest and biggest accomplishment was being a Breast Cancer Survivor.
Barbara is survived by her Sons - Jeffrey Harley of Rochester, IN; and Kevin “Scott” Harley and wife Valerie of Argos, IN
Daughters – Robin Hensley and husband Gregg of Tippecanoe, IN; and Penni Harley of Mentone, IN
13 Grandchildren & 16 Great Grandchildren
Brothers – Eldon Marks and wife Diane of Fresno, California; and PJ Marks and wife Sissy of Baltimore, Maryland.
Sisters – Ellen Samuels of Plymouth, Indiana; and Janet Mankowski and husband Joe of South Bend, Indiana
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brothers – Glen Marks and Junior Marks, Sisters – Madelyne Colip, Margie Kompton, Betty Zilmer, Polly Miller-Anderson, Infant Sister Kathleen Marks
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday October 15, 2014 from 4 – 8p.m. at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 19056 Gumwood Rd., Argos, Indiana at 10:00 a.m. October 16, 2014 with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
