Robert Michael Edwards Sr.

Robert Michael Edwards Sr., 75 of Old US 31, Rochester, Indiana passed away at 7:26 a.m. on October 21, 2019 at his residence where he had been in declining health for several years. On January 1, 1944 in Asheville, North Carolina he was born to Fletcher Fabious Edwards and Georgia Wilson (Anderson) Edwards. Robert had lived in Argos since 1990 coming from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

On October 28, 1962 in Asheville, North Carolina he married Josephine Mary Felkel and together they would have shared 57 years next week.

Sergeant First Class Robert M. Edwards spent 22 ½ years in the United States Army, retiring on April 1, 1983. He then retired from Buckeye Aviation in Argos, Indiana.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos, Indiana; and the Wounded Warriors.

Robert is survived by his Wife – Josephine Edwards of Rochester, Indiana

Sons – Michael Edwards Jr. and wife Mary of Argos, Indiana; Joseph Edwards and wife Kimberly of Argos, Indiana; Thomas Ray Edwards and wife Natasha of Plymouth, Indiana; and Elvis Aaron Edwards and wife Stephany of Tyner, Indiana

Daughter – Helen Howard and husband Anthony of Argos, Indiana

15 Grandchildren    1 Great Grandchild and 2 expecting

2 Sisters – Alma Louise Rice and husband Don of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Joan Bridges of Greenville, South Carolina

He is preceded in death by his Parents; and Brother James Tildon Edwards

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday October 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ; 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 26, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, Indiana with Rev. Ron Hensley and Rev. Lloyd Howard. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana with the United States Army Honor Guard and James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana conducting Military Honors.
